Poltava cadet corps
Renovation of the historical ensemble
CONCEPTUAL DECISION OF RENOVATION OF POLTAVA CADET CORPS FROM AVG.
The main building was built in 1835-1840 in the style of late classicism under the direction of architect Nikolai Bonch-Bruevich. The complex of buildings is located on the north-western part of the Round Square in the center of Poltava. Moreover, this site was originally planned for the construction of a men’s gymnasium.

Historical greeting card
The main building has a length of 132 meters along the facade and is extremely expressive from an architectural point of view. The three-storey brick building has a complex T-shaped layout. The axis of symmetry of the main facade is accentuated by an eight-column portico of the Rimodoric order, which rests on the arcade of the first floor.
Stairs and two straight ramps, which are located on both sides, along the facade, lead to the main entrance. Initially, the house wasn’t plastered and an important role in creating a strict monumental image was played by the contrast of red brick walls and whitewashed details.

The current state of the building
The renovation project involves the restoration of existing historic buildings, as well as the construction of a modern multifunctional complex. Particular attention was paid to the organization of the space around the main building and the creation of a holistic architectural composition of the complex.
